About the role
You’ll have experience of owning the end-to-end project and programme planning processes for highly visible strategic transformation programmes, supporting cross functional teams in excess of 150 heads.
The specific responsibilities of the Planning & Dependencies Manager will include:
- Accountable for the creation, maintenance and administration of multiple project and programme schedules/plans
- Accountable for liaising with project team members, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure there is always accurate analysis of project progress
- Accountable for holding regular workshops to agree, document and manage dependencies
- Accountable for the identification, challenge/management and escalation for closure of any issues that arise
- Provides expert support to all programme and project teams in setting up, running and documenting planning workshops
- Facilitates a collaborative process that promotes engagement and ownership of Project Schedules throughout the Project teams and organisation
- Monitor the quality and validity of the component schedules to facilitate their integration into the overall Master Control Schedule and facilitate and manage the logic interfaces between the component schedules
- Provide guidance around project schedule development and ongoing maintenance, in accordance with planning and scheduling processes and procedures
- Support processes to provide timely and regular transfer of accurate and coherent schedule information into the MCS schedule and programme
- Audits and enforces consistent implementation of planning principles and processes across all projects and programmes
About You
You’ll have a proven history within project and programme planning for complex large scale programmes with budgets in excess of £10m, alongside end-to-end planning from setup to closure of at least two programmes in excess of 18 months duration.
Utilising your associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position (e.g. information technology, information systems, computer science, computer engineering) you’ll have excellent knowledge of planning software, including MS Project and Primavera, and comprehensive knowledge of detailed IT project lifecycles and business change activities.
The role is an initial 24 month fixed term contract but carries a fantastic opportunity to potentially become a permanent member of staff.
