Deliver the technology that will fight crime and catch criminals
Could you help deliver new and exciting technology to the Met that will help us police and protect London? As a Programme Delivery Specialist, you’ll be doing just that, bringing efficient, modern ICT systems to some 50,000 officers and staff. It’s a chance to work on a wide range of projects and programmes that can help us fight crime and catch criminals - all while earning excellent rewards and benefits.
As part of our Solution Delivery Team, you’ll join an ‘intelligent client function’ that’s responsible for ICT change services within the Met. You’ll either plan and co-ordinate straightforward ICT projects and programmes, or work on larger programmes as part of a team. Either way, you’ll be directly managing Solution Providers, with the help of the SDIM (Solution Delivery & Integration Management) supplier. Together, you’ll deliver initiatives ranging high-profile deployments of body worn video and mobile devices to front line officers, new digital ways for the public to contact the Met, new IT to support forensic investigation and new core policing platforms which will transform investigations and prosecutions.. As well as timescales, cost and quality, you’ll need to think about architectural, strategic and design standards. With the appropriate project governance, you’ll see that every initiative succeeds.
An experienced Programme or Project Specialist, you’ll have worked in a similar role, ideally in the public sector. You’ve delivered fully outsourced, multi-supplier projects and built up good supplier management experience. You’re also degree-qualified (or equivalent), with a good grasp of different project management methodologies (Agile, Prince 2, Waterfall). With solid communication skills, you can influence, negotiate and solve issues. Comfortable working with senior staff, you’ll be a proactive professional who’s focused on results.
If you’ve got the drive and commitment to make a difference to how the Met works, we can offer great rewards including 28 days’ holiday, free gym membership and a Defined Benefit Alpha pension.
