We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Project Manager responsible for leading a team of Project Managers, liaising with businesses and their key internal service Line Managers.

About your role as the Principal Project Manager:

Initially as the Principal Project Manager you will play a leading role in establishing an efficient IT Operating model and delivering a number of Service Improvement projects which will establish the foundation for Continual Service Improvement. You will be responsible for defining and reinforcing a structured methodology and approach to change.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess, apply and manage the appropriate Project Management capability for all projects within the ICT service line

- Govern the projects portfolio by providing direct support, mentoring and coaching to the team to ensure best practice project management

- Ensure that there is a clear roadmap for the project community

- Drive best practices with regards Lessons Learned, Project Reviews and Continuous Improvement across the projects portfolio

- Work with PMO and Operational leads to ensure that there is sufficient capacity and flex within the project management community to support the Project Portfolio

Who are we looking for to be our successful Principal Project Manager?

We need a Principal Project Manager who has proven project management skills, excellent knowledge of IT technical environments and issues and demonstrable IT management experience. You should also possess the following:

- Degree qualified or equivalent work experience

- Project management qualification (e.g.Prince2®)

- Knowledge of financial management

- Experience of managing multi-disciplined teams

- Full driving licence and willingness to drive

- An understanding of the health sector would be beneficial
