About the Team:

The Lab are O2’s "Start-up inside a corporate". A team with a diverse set of skills and a remit to explore new technologies and apply innovative ways of thinking. They are passionate about building technical solutions to real-world problems and love to share their knowledge by representing O2 at conferences, exhibitions and school events to help the community make the most of their digital lives.

This exciting team is seeking a skilled DevOps engineer with software development experience to explore new ideas & technologies and help them deliver innovative solutions, products & services. This is a role that requires a broad range of skills and the ability to get involved in a wide range of activities within a technical team.

Responsibilities:

-Design, develop & deliver prototype apps and services

-Support & maintain platforms and infrastructure required by multiple projects

-Ensure projects are delivered on time and budget and have a clearly understood value

-Liaise with all areas of the business to ensure the Lab has the support needed to drive innovation

-Generate new ideas - and help others generate ideas

-Help transform technological ideas into compelling applications/services for customers both internal and external

Skills and Experience:

-Experience in Amazon Web Services with a good understanding in their cloud based services and platforms

-A good understanding in VPC, Lambdas, Routing tables or DynamoDB, etc

-Coding and scripting language experience ( javascript) and predominantly ReactJS , ideally python also

-Familiar with continuous integration management and associated tools / frameworks (eg. Jenkins)

-Familiar with tools such as Ansible, docker, chef and puppet

-Comfortable Jasmine, Mocha, Cucumber, Rspec (testing frameworks)

-Ability to demonstrate basic principles of object-oriented programming and design (SOLID for example)

-Familiarity with SQL and NON-SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB

-Experience with HTML and CSS experience would be a distinct advantage
