Graduate Applications Developer - SC clearance eligible - 4 Months - Erskine - IT consulting company
Our client, a leading IT consulting company, is currently looking for a Graduate Applications Developer to join their team based in Erskine for a duration of 4 months. The successful candidate will be put through SC clearance thus needs to be SC cleared eligible.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
* To work as part of a team to provide third line support of bespoke applications within the agreed service levels ensuring help calls are processed in a timely and professional manner.
* Own and resolve incidents.
* Perform third level application support of bespoke systems.
* Share knowledge and skills with other team members and the company's support teams.
* Direct customer support and interaction.
Essential Skills:
* Experience or very good knowledge of the core development tools used - namely C#, SQL Server, Java, JavaScript, JQuery.
* Willingness to work in an application support environment with direct customer interaction.
* Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, problem, change and release management.
* Good problem solving ability.
* A self-motivated individual who can work either in a team, or individually with direction.
* Ability to articulate help call problems to other members of the team.
* Ability to apply experience and best practice to incidents, problems and changes.
* Able to pick up new skills quickly.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A good knowledge of application maintenance and support processes.
Desirable Skills:
* Team player
* Client management
* ITIL V3 Foundation Certification
* Experience or knowledge of any additional development tools used - namely VB.NET, C++, ILOG, VBA, VB6, Business Object Data Server , Business Object Reports, Universe and EXCELCIUS
* Understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting and testing methodologies
* Understanding of network technologies
* Understanding of relational databases and basic application database administration.
* Understanding of application configuration management principles
