Senior Systems Administrator - Edinburgh

A world leader in their specialist area, our client develops high-precision, Analog and Mixed-Signal ICs and currently has a new opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator to join their design centre based in Edinburgh.

In this role you will be responsible for designing, maintaining and support and improve the companies information systems infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

*Designing and implementing infrastructure which is fit for purpose (robust, scalable, maintainable, manageable, integrated with other components, disaster recovery, security).

*Responsible for recommending, implementing, documenting and maintaining system configurations, performance monitoring/tuning, system software maintenance (e.g. applying operating system patches, upgrading system software versions) to ensure that systems perform.

*Disaster recovery design, building, implementation and ongoing testing to ensure the IS infrastructure can be recovered from agreed scenarios.

*Provide second line support for systems, providing guidance and assistance for Help Desk staff to encourage knowledge growth for Help Desk and resolving complex IS issues to allow internal customers to work efficiently.

To be successful for this role you must have experience in Linux systems administration experience and NAS storage - Oracle, Netapp, Isilon experience preferred or LSF support in a multi-site environment (fairshare,esub,elim and flexlm license integration).

Requirements include:

*Extensive in a systems administrator role

*Strong experience in at least 3 of the following technology areas:

oRed hat Linux systems administration (e.g. Red Hat 6).

oLinux support in an EDA environment

?Debugging tool/OS interoperability issues

?Flexlm license servers

?AD authentication with redhat via sssd

oNAS storage

?Oracle, Isilon experience preferred

*LSF support in a multi-site environment.

*Familiar with group based fairshare, license scheduler, elim and esub

*Perforce

*Subversion

*Puppet

*Virtualisation Concepts and management using VMware

*Data management

*Highly competent in use of Systems and Applications

*Experience in technical supplier management

You will be a strong team player with excellent communications skills and able to plan and then execute programmes of work across the full range of IT support services.

Candidates with experience in the areas of; IT support services, Red hat Linux systems administration (e.g. Red Hat 6), Linux support in an EDA environment, NAS storage, Oracle, Isilon, LSF and Flexlm are able to be considered for this role. Location: Edinburgh, Scotland.
