About the Role
Currently the IS Assurance team are the gatekeepers for all services supported by Infrastructure from the supportability, serviceability and maintainability view point. They develop the immediate roadmaps of our selected technology, provide standard build patterns, review designs for new or changed services, and provide consultancy services to guide new projects of the appropriate technology to deploy.
As an Infrastructure Manager, you will be expected to drive deliverables set by the business, whilst implementing strategies to maintain the high performance of the current team of 8 technical specialists. Alongside managing the team, the successful Infrastructure Manager will also represent Infrastructure Services at several board meetings.
Ideal candidates will have a broad knowledge and experience of working in a technology environment and will be comfortable leading a team to achieve through process and structure.
Key Accountabilities
Manage a high performing team of 8 specialist technical resource; this will include Co-ordination of activities between projects, technical resolver groups and assigning resources to meet project requests.
Lead team reviews of design documents and changes, with authority to safely deploy agreed resolutions.
Safeguarding of the IM estate; with a heavy focus on design assurance.
Conduct post event investigations, to discuss and plan resolution.
Provide guidance to projects to ensure their solutions fit the serviceable and supportable framework, and ensure that delivery is as straightforward as possible.
Achieve continuous service improvement to maximise infrastructure capability and availability in delivering quality services.
Maintain and enforce the use of a standards library.
Communicate and increase awareness of the Assurance function both within Infrastructure Services and the wider IM Department.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Candidates will have experience of all of the following;
Demonstrable experience of people management within a technology environment.
Proven experience of budget responsibilities and capacity planning.
Demonstrable experience of managing processes on a daily basis.
Proven experience of designing and implementing strategies to achieve results across a team.
Operating at manager or head of function level.
