We are partnering with an industry leading Semiconductor components company. You will be based in their Design Centre in Irvine as a Senior Filter Design Engineer. Collaborate with a dynamic group of RF experts to pioneer technology for cutting-edge cellular handsets and wireless communication devices.

Your primary focus will be on designing acoustic filters, leveraging SAW and BAW technology, for RF front-end modules. Enjoy the vibrant lifestyle of Irvine, consistently recognised as one of the safest coastal cities in the nation.

Primary Responsibilities as a Senior Filter Design Engineer:

  • Develop acoustic wave filters for integration into RF modules, adhering to stringent schedules, top-tier performance benchmarks, and critical size and cost parameters.
  • Apply engineering standards to ensure reliability, sustainability, and high production yield.
  • Spearhead novel architectures and concepts to continually enhance filter and module performance, ensuring you maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Conduct design evaluations and present quantitative data showcasing adherence to internal or client specifications, leveraging simulations and empirical results.
  • Collaborate closely with module and systems teams to establish pertinent goals for filter performance criteria.
  • Engage with technology and fabrication teams to drive ongoing performance enhancements and influence business unit roadmaps.
  • Champion design methodologies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and first-pass success rates.
Essential Qualifications as a Senior Filter Design Engineer:
  • Proficiency in acoustic filter and multiplexer designs.
  • Thorough comprehension of RF fundamentals, encompassing impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth, and stability.
  • Expertise in PA/LNA filter co-design and RF integration.
  • Strong aptitude in circuit simulation leveraging Agilent ADS/Cadence and 2.5/3D EM tools like Momentum or HFSS.
  • Previous experience in EM simulation of filters or multi-chip modules (MCM).
  • Extensive hands-on experience in problem-solving and lab debugging from prototype to mass production.
Preferred Qualifications as a Senior Filter Design Engineer:
  • Demonstrated success in prior RF filter/multiplexer developments for cellular applications.
  • Understanding of cellular RF systems.
