SALARY: £100,657.00 - £118,420.00 annual base salary + excellent rewards packageLOCATION: LondonHOURS: Full Time - 35 hours per weekWORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our London Wall site.ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY We're looking for a Senior Solution Architect to join our Domestic Lab. We're responsible for over 4bn UK electronic Payments including Faster Payments, Cheque Clearing, BACS, Cash distribution and more. Our team works in close collaboration with industry groups and regulators to protect the UK, the Bank and our Customers. We sit in the Payments Services Platform provides compliant, efficient and innovative payments capabilities for the Group to enable customers to move money confidently, quickly and securely. We are a supportive and diverse community where we're passionate about collaboration and growing together.In joining us you'll focus on the following:Collaborating with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects & Engineers to create the Architectural runway for our Lab & Platform teams.Partnering with Enterprise Architecture & service providers to elaborate on solutions, their interfaces and validating technology assumptions, evaluating implementation alternatives and software lifecycle risks, assumptions, issues & dependencies.Providing analysis of options and deliver end-to-end solution designsDevelops innovative solutions by integrating and analysing complex and diverse information sources, making authoritative technical and/or professional recommendations that have a significant short-term and long-term impact on the businessAnalyses and evaluates the feasibility/relevance of proposals for complex products/services, then develops and amends as necessary with guidance from senior colleagues and/or supervises activities performed by a product development/specialist team.WHAT YOU'LL NEED Strong Software Architecture background and experience of agile development practices with a history of technical leadershipExperience across the entire software development life cycle from inception, through build to productionYou understand and acknowledge the impact of system design decisions on scalability, resilience, and supportabilityKnowledge of Payments System Architecture such as Faster Payments, BACS, CashExperience of API design and architecture patterns, messaging technologies (Kafka, MQ)Exposure to modern application frameworks (Spring boot Java etc)Experience of building applications through containerised microservices-based architectures, with a working-to-strong understanding of cloud methodologiesExperience of risk, infrastructure, resilience and security architecture practices and concernsActive involvement in architecture and design governance And the following would be really usefulExposure to Systems ThinkingABOUT WORKING FOR USOur focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.
