Job title: Cloud Engineer

Location: UK Wide. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £40-45K - Depending on experience and skills

What you'll be doing:

  • The Cloud Engineer is an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge who serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in cloud technologies. They will also possess in-depth knowledge and experience in working with on premise infrastructure
  • Interpreting internal and external issues, recommending solutions and best practices, and taking a broad perspective to identify complex problem-solving approaches
  • Occasionally act as a lead on projects, serve as a resource for best practices and quality, and occasionally provide training and mentorship to junior staff and are accountable for their performance and results
  • Work independently and rarely seek guidance in complex circumstances and also act as an escalation point from junior colleagues
  • Ensuring the cloud platforms are secure to BAE standards and liaise with other cyber security parties to ensure safety to the business

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive experience in cloud engineering and architecture, with a proven track record of delivering successful cloud solutions
  • Relevant certifications in cloud technologies achieved to an advanced level and service management (e.g. Azure Administrator Associate, ITIL etc.) would be advantageous

Desirable:

  • Advanced understanding of containerisation technologies and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Advanced knowledge of monitoring and logging tools used in cloud environments
  • Advanced understanding of DevOps methodologies and toolsets
  • M365 knowledge would be a distinct advantage

The Azure Operations Team:

You will be joining an expansion to an existing Azure operations team, supporting additional requirements that sits within Enterprise IT, providing enterprise IT services across the UK businesses and internationally. You will participate in the creation of security solutions to provide enterprise security services, and maintain, develop, and communicate their associated roadmaps and standards through the full lifecycle of the service. This could also offer a natural progression route and the opportunity to develop further.
