Job Title: PM&C Manager - PMO

Location: Barrow in Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: From £60,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Working closely with a range of business and customer stakeholders to ensure programme status and performance is clearly and accurately articulated across the Astute enterprise
  • Managing a wide variety of PMO & Project Control related activities and deliverables, working with a diverse range of stakeholders across the programme
  • Leading on the delivery of all Astute Programme Reviews
  • Leading on the governance of our application of appropriately tailored Project Management & Controls practices across the Astute programme
  • Leading on the implementation of Life Cycle Management, including successful Phase Reviews and Project Performance Reviews, whilst ensuring good governance across all LCM Review types
  • Leading a team of Astute PMO Project Management & Control staff, coaching team members, monitoring quality of work and contributing to performance management

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Project Management (tools, techniques, practices) and basic knowledge of other functions such as Commercial & Finance
  • Ability to resolve & guide others in solving complex project-related issues
  • Recognised as an experienced Project Management practitioner
  • Ability to persuade and influence internal & external stakeholders, sometimes at senior levels internally
  • Previous experience in a leadership role

The Astute Programme team:

As the PM&C Manager for the Astute Project Management Office, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the completion of the remaining boats of the Astute Programme, and see them successfully transition into service with the Royal Navy. Overseeing the full scope of the project, ensuring status and performance reporting are robustly represented. Opportunities beyond this role extend to a wide range of routes to more senior and project management roles within submarines business.
