Full Stack Developer - the opportunity

This is an exciting role with a regular customer of ours.  They're a long-established technology business who are embarking on the development of the next generation of their product set. 

You'll be joining a team of five people, that works collaboratively, with a flat structure.  There's plenty of autonomy and responsibility.  They're looking for the new member to focus on Data, Databases and API's, though there is plenty of potential to get involved in other areas too.

Using new technologies and techniques in data engineering will be key to a number of the company's new products, so this is an important role.  We're looking for someone who has a good understanding of document-oriented databases - preferably MongoDB.

You'll be part of the team that's architecting their future tech stack, likely to include .Net 6 & beyond; more use of NoSQL databases; Containerisation, hardware-agnostic applications and new Cloud technologies.

The company is based in Hitchin, Herts and operates hybrid, flexible working.  Ideally, you'll be in the office a day or two a week, but there's potentially some flexibility around this.

Full Stack Developer - responsibilities: - 

• Creating new features, from gathering requirements through to implementation & testing

• Being the focal point for the team in terms of NoSQL/document-oriented databases and data engineering

• Ensuring that data and database level designs are consistent and futureproof

• Writing code that can be used across different applications

• Writing data access code that is resilient and reliable

• Working as part of a team to ship the highest quality software features

Full Stack Developer - requirements: - 

• Proven commercial experience in document-oriented databases, ideally MongoDB

• Good understanding of SQL databases, ideally MySQL

• Strong C# coding skills

• Experience of REST API development (ideally in C# ASP.NET)

• Some experience with managed Cloud databases, e.g. MongoDB Atlas or Azure SQL Server

• Experience of ORM's, e.g. Entity Framework or Dapper, or able to build your own

• Experience of any of the following would be a bonus: -
