Senior Production Manager-Food Manufacturing

Taunton, Somerset

£55-60K plus Benefits plus Progression plus 25 days holiday, pension (up to 8%), parking.

8AM-5.00PM Mon-Fri-some flex required

Are you an experienced Production Manager from a food manufacturing background look for a exciting and varied days based role for one of the UK's leading Food Manufacturing Companies? This role will be the second in command on a 200+ staff site and offers future progression into an Operations Manager role. It may suit an Operations Manager from a smaller food company looking to work for a larger, international company, or an experienced Production Manager from a large corporate food manufacturer wanting to progress.

This position will focus on mentoring 2 junior production managers, second line management of staff (6 team leaders), plus a focus on quality, health and safety and supporting improvement projects. This is very much a shop floor based position rather than a desk based role.

The Role:

1. Maintain and uphold standards of health and safety, quality, discipline, food hygiene, communication and employee relations.
2. Develop, train and motivate staff, including mentoring 2 junior Production Managers, managing staff timetables to ensure production area runs efficiently.
3. Advise, recommend and implement any improvement to work methods which could improve productivity, performance or economy of operation.
4. Act as the second in command on site and deputise for the Operations Manager when away

The Person:

1. Senior Production management experience in a food manufacturing business
2. Lean Manufacturing experience.
3. Advanced Food hygiene Qualification
