Workshop Technician (Schools) Abingdon, Oxfordshire Up to £38,500 DOE + Pension + School Holidays (circa 17 weeks Holiday per year) + Free school meals + Use of and reduced membership of school facilities including Sports Centre and 9-hole golf course + use of workshop for personal projects Excellent opportunity to join a leading educational organisation in a highly varied and interesting role as a workshop technician where you will also have the opportunity to impart knowledge, and help to develop the next generation. They are expanding and are looking to recruit a Workshop technician to join their friendly and welcoming team. In this role you will be setting up equipment, tools and materials for lessons and managing the workshop. You will assist teaching staff in proper and safe use of tools and machinery and will ensure compliance with health and safety. You will also be responsible for repairing and maintenance of equipment. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background with knowledge of a wide range of equipment, materials and tools including wood, metals, laser cutters, CNC. Understanding and awareness of current Health and Safety compliance and legislation is key. The Role: * Workshop Technician in a School, working with Teachers and Students * Setting up equipment, tools and materials for lessons and managing the workshop * Assist teaching staff in proper and safe use of tools and machinery and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety * Repairing and maintenance of equipment * Onsite Mon-Fri, 08:30 - 17:30 and some Saturdays during Term time * Up to £38,500 DOE + Pension + School Holidays (roughly 17 weeks per year) + additional benefits The Person: * Engineering background with knowledge of CNC, machinery and equipment * Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for their work * Understanding and awareness of current Health & Safety legislation * Working with a range of equipment, tools and materials including wood, metals, laser cutters, CNC router * IT literate * Good interpersonal and effective communication skills Reference Number: BBBH220625
