Job Introduction

This exciting role will play a key part supporting the development of our cloud compute environments, ensuring the seamless operation, and performance of cloud services across the business and adopting new technologies in line with business demands. Working closely with other IT service, operational and specialist delivery teams to provide a robust, scalable and resilient cloud environment and drive the transformation of our cloud first strategy.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide expert cloud technology support, focusing on Azure-based system design, build, and maintenance.
  • Investigate and resolve Cloud environment issues in collaboration with IT teams.
  • Offer guidance on cloud technologies and services, understanding various public cloud environments.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for production, testing, and development instances.
  • Develop containerization and manage server knowledge across Linux and Windows OS.
  • Implement infrastructure as code and adhere to best practices for deployments.
  • Evaluate SaaS offerings for SQL and data, formulating implementation plans.
  • Support the Senior BSA Cloud lead in all Azure-related tasks.
  • Ensure optimal application performance and security compliance across cloud environments.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical details for non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor and train IT team members, identifying infrastructure improvements for future growth.
  • Provide after-hours support for high-priority issues as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related field. 
  • Deep technical knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is required. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of cloud security models and hardening techniques. 
  • Knowledge of virtualization software, storage platforms, networking equipment, etc.  
  • Have delivered enterprise level network implementations. 
  • Delivery and knowledge of technical projects across multiple locations 
  • Change and Transformation experience. 
  • Excellent Communication skills and able to work with stakeholders up to Head of function level. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
