Job Title: Senior Hardware Systems Engineer

Location: New Malden - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Up to £48k depending on qualifications & experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Generation of design, test and installation documentation
  • Design proving, including environmental and Electro Magnetic Compatibility aspects
  • Investigation and resolution of design issues
  • Design and build of the electrical and hardware system to achieve successful acceptance (FAT(E))
  • Support to development systems
  • Successful installation and setting to work of hardware on ship
  • Understanding of Configuration Control and baselines
  • Use of Visio for Hardware design

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • An Engineer with experience in a hardware domain
  • Knowledge and experience in COTS hardware
  • A can-do, enthusiastic attitude and enquiring mind, with a flexible approach and openness to involvement in all aspects of the team's work

Desirable:

  • Experience with COTS cabinets, cabinet designs, wiring schedules, power distribution would be especially desirable
  • Experience working with the Defence sector

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered

To perform a Hardware/Systems Engineer role within the Hardware Product Team, covering a number of facets including design of SI Systems, testing and issue resolution.
