 WHAT TO EXPECT 

Reporting to the Paint CME Lead Process Engineer and to the Paint CME & Production Support Manager, the position is responsible for all activities within Paint on, one or a combination of, D7A, MLA and JEA model year and launch programmes.

The role will provide engineering and technical support to develop, implement and maintain manufacturing production processes and associated equipment to enable efficient manufacture of D7A, MLA and JEA product. 

This includes the creation and continuous improvement of process, all process equipment, delivery of tools, jigs & fixtures, quality problem solving, data analysis and reporting of major issues, deployment of failure mode avoidance tools, support of cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects and the tracking of resolution through to completion.

You’ll be part of the Paint Group, working in squads, involved in creating stories and sometimes Epics that will require further support from the Lead CME Process Engineer. The role requires collaboration across functions to ensure we have established compliance with the BOP to deliver processes that meet our customer and quality targets. You will attend scrum ceremonies to include sprint planning, daily stand up, back log refinement, sprint showcase and retrospective. It is also important to share best practice across the platforms and between manufacturing plants to ensure we employ the best processes available wherever possible.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise and manage the Product Backlog, ensuring it is transparent and relevant.
  • Create and distribute the station readiness roadmap to the squad.
  • Assess, value, and prioritise stories to ensure work focuses on maximum value that is aligned with launch gateways and trial builds.
  • Support the squad with identifying and discussing interdependencies with other squads to ensure work is synchronized where possible. 
  • Identify and communicate squad related risks, issues and opportunities to the wider Paint team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how the area delivers value to the wider manufacturing team.
  • Identifying, understanding and influencing key Stakeholders, balancing their needs with those of the Customer.
  • Ensure the voice of the Customer is heard at the squad level and obtain regular feedback.
  • Supporting Squad Members and squad Scrum Master with day-to-day duties, helping to address impediments and drive productivity.
  • Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
  • Responsibility of Control Plan adherence and updates (including PFMEAs).
  • Attend programme meetings at all levels and present where applicable.
  • Feasibility of all process designs to suit manufacturing build requirements - Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Planning, developing, implementation and continuous improvement of all capable GSPAS Processes for manufacturing, including change management.
  • Planning, development, procurement and implementation of all Process equipment tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
  • Update of related Manufacturing Execution system data to support deployment of process for IPB to Launch exit - GMES, Synatec, DC tool, PV, Build card
  • Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.
  • Creating stories and working within the squad to resolve increments.
  • Complete and raise Jira to track all stories and Epics raised.
  • Participate in required Agile scrum ceremonies, ensuring input is given during set cadence.
  • Interacting with IQM to close issues via effective problem solving.
  • Support current model CME and Quality Conformance as directed by the CME Process Lead Engineer, or the Quality and Conformance Lead Engineer.

Essential:

  • Knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of IPS requirements & Lean Manufacturing
  • An understanding of Agile methodology
  • An understanding of Jira and the use of Jira
