LIFTING ENGINEER - NUCLEAR - HPC - SOMMERSET 12 MONTH ROLLING CONTRACT

My client are looking for a Lifting Engineer to join the team on site on one of the largest-construction projects in the world. Your role will be vital, owning all aspects of lifting/rigging on site including, but not limited to: lifting operation, documentation associated with lifting activities (lift plans, RAMS etc…), formal communications regarding lifting (RFI, NCR, CI etc…)

Summary of key duties & responsibilities

  • Performing technical review of lifting related contract documentation
  • Formal communications for all contractual documents related to lifting (NCR's, FCR's, RFI's, CE's etc…)
  • Define both operational and technical risks associated to site lift plans
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and client specifications
  • Creation and maintenance of all lifting documentation (Lift plans, RAMS etc…)
  • Provide technical expertise on all things associated to lifting
  • Lead a team of up to 16 riggers/slingers
  • Supply and maintain all registers associated to lifting
  • Hosting of both internal and external (client) audits

Experience

  • Experience of working in nuclear sector
  • Extensive experience of creating complex lift plans
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and complex work areas
  • Client facing

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage directly with the client in a professional manner to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Able to work individually as well as part of a team to tight deadlines and targets
  • Ability to prioritise and manage numerous interfaces
  • Technical problem-solving skills
  • Relevant qualifications associated to lifting
