Disclosure & Barring Service are now hiring for a Senior Delivery Manager

Grade: Grade 7

Salary: £53,400 - £62,000

Location: The post holder will have a contracted base of Liverpool or Darlington. The post holder may be required to attend their contracted office in accordance with the needs of the organisation.

Reports to: Digital Service Manager.

Line management: Yes

Security clearance level required: BPSS

 

About the department:

DBS operates in the complex world of safeguarding protecting people's health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.

We provide a service that enables organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make better informed, safer recruitment and other decisions.

 

Job purpose:

You'll be responsible for leading the delivery of one or more digital products or services with a mix of internal and supplier resources. You will work on either internal or citizen facing challenges, removing blockers and working in partnership with users, policy makers, stakeholders and senior managers. 

You'll also be a senior member of the Digital Service with the opportunity to shape our delivery community, ensuring that Agile tools are embedded in everything we do. You'll also help us champion agile delivery across the wider department. 

In recent years DBS's Digital Service has implemented a range of new digital services, using the latest technology and methods. All of our services are cloud-hosted, with high user-satisfaction rates. We are proud of what we have achieved and as we continue to develop and grow, you can too.

 

Corporate duties:

Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently

Work with the Product Manager to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories

Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team

Matrix-managing a multidisciplinary team

Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (discovery / alpha / beta)

Actively participating in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.
