Our client is a leading technology-driven organisation that values innovation, agility, and data-driven decision-making. As they continue to expand their services, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join the dynamic team on a contract basis (6 - 12 months). As a Data Scientist, you will collaborate with the team of experts to develop cutting-edge data models, extract meaningful insights, and drive actionable recommendations. Your work will be pivotal in transforming raw data into tangible business solutions, and you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various industries. Responsibilities:Data Exploration and Analysis:Apply statistical techniques and exploratory data analysis methods to identify patterns, correlations, and anomalies.Develop a deep understanding of the available data and perform data pre-processing and feature engineering tasks.Model Development and Validation:Utilise machine learning algorithms and statistical models to create predictive and prescriptive models.Train and validate models using both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.Fine-tune models for optimal performance and ensure scalabilityData Visualisation and Reporting:Create visually appealing and insightful data visualisations to effectively communicate findings and results.Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaboration and Client Engagement:Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business analysts, to ensure successful project delivery.Engage with clients to understand their unique business challenges and develop tailored data solutions.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, sharing your expertise and best practices.Continuous Learning and Innovation:Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.Actively contribute to the development and improvement of internal tools, methodologies, and frameworks.Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline).Proven experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a contract or project-based environment.Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with expertise in data manipulation and analysis librariesSolid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and SQL databases.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex, unstructured data sets.Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.If this sounds like something you’re interested in, I would love to speak with you - please apply now or reach out to Jonathan Courtney.
