Who is the Employer Team?The Employer Team sits within Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) - we have the key purpose of developing the IT applications (specifically in this role, the Employer Hub & Assist Me applications) used by Employers to administer Scottish Widows Pensions Schemes. We're currently in the process of re-platforming these applications and therefore concluding this activity is a key focus for the team. Beyond this, there is a backlog of exciting work as these applications are further developed to meet our strategic aims and client needs. The Feature Team will transition back to following Agile Project Methodology, meaning our initiatives will typically led by the Product Owners(PO) and Engineering Leads (EL), who work with their team of Business Analysts (BA) and various Engineering colleagues to deliver ouragreed outcomes. Our Scrum Master will be key to achieving this successful transition. As Scrum Master to the Employer Team, you will:Act as facilitator of scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand ups, retrospectives etc.) through a clear understanding of the aim of each event, taking corrective measures as required; and support with coaching Leadership team to understand agility through flow principles and collaborate with the Product Owner and team, to ensure a healthy prioritised product backlog.Embed agile values and principles including the coaching and facilitation of the team in self-organisation and crossfunctionality - delivering agile training and remove impediments to the team's progress.Continuously developing the Scrum Master Chapter expertise and membersMaintain best-in-class agile expertise and resources in order to deliver the right knowledge and skills to the Teams; and actively research relevant thought leadership and standard methodology and share relevant insights and developments; as well as maintain own technical knowledge through learning and continuous development. In addition, you'll be a role model to support the organisation's transformation to a new way of working; and actively creating and maintaining the culture within the Chapter based on our values & behaviours! What we need from you:In depth experience as a Scrum Master with validated skills and shown capability of agile application and scrum techniques.Significant experience of leading and transforming capability in feature teams.Experience of transforming from waterfall to flow systems for software development processes.Ability to brainstorm with team members on solutions to address challenges and roadblocks.Experience influencing behaviour cross-team and cross-discipline without having formal organisational hierarchy.
