Deputy construction and dredging manager (Harbour engineering)Harwich, Essex, £60'000- £65'000 + Hybrid basis (2/3 days a week in the office) + Relocation support + brilliant pension 15% contribution + Private healthcare + 32 days holiday holidaysDo you have a background in civil engineer and have experience in contract management and leading building projects?Are you looking for a varied role with autonomy, opportunity to develop your skills sets and be a vital cog in the wheel?This organisation manager the harbour manage a busy harbour within the county of Essex. In 2021 they undertook a multi-million project to widen the channel leading into the harbour to allow large vessels to enter.The main focus of this role will be the ongoing maintenance and dredging of the channel. You will also be in charge the assets/ facilities in the harbour such as pontoon, piers and office buildings. You will also lead and manage specific refurbishment and construction projects on the organisations assets.The ideal candidate will come from a civils background, have experience in co-ordination of contracts and have experience in leading building projects. Candidates with a dredging background would be encouraged to apply.This is a great role for an engineer with a civils background to become a task expert in a unique field of engineering where you can technical progress and play a key role in this orgsations growth and development.The role:*Procuring, planning and management of the maintenance dredging operations.*Developing, planning and management of environmental monitoring programme.*Plan, programme, develop and deliver capital and revenue works to assets and building.*Maintain up to date knowledge on CDM regulations and other construction, health and safety, environmental related legislation ensure that the organisation ae compliant at all times.*Being in charge of structures within the harbour such a pontoons and piers. The person:*Degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying or equivalent.*Post-graduate experience in construction management.*Have a proven track record of contract management.*Ideally have a project management qualification or be willing to work towards it.
