Job Description

UK Financial Controller

Job Summary:

This role is part of the fast paced and dynamic EMEA & APAC Controllership team that is responsible for accounting operations for numerous countries within EU and APAC including UK, Germany, Switzerland, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Nordics. Controllership includes areas like monthly financial close, preparation of local legal entity financial statements, support of compliance requirements (including internal/external audit/Tax), Treasury management, financial systems process improvements and change programs and reporting to Publicis Groupe.

Publicis Sapient is transitioning to the Publicis ERP (SAP) in 2024 & this role will play a significant role both from a UK market perspective and also supporting the EMEA/APAC Controller on global change in areas like FX risk management, process redesign and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:
Operating and managing the complex monthly close processes on areas including payroll accounting, accruals/ prepayments, intercompany and FX revaluation.Monthly reporting of entities into Hyperion Financial Management to the French owned parent company and Publicis Sapient Global teams.Management of team members as well as stakeholder co-ordination and direction of the shared service teams in various countries.Management of global relationships with various people within the business outside the finance team. Advise on accounting and reporting issues both from a technical accounting and overall management information perspective.Proactive management of UK FX risk including evaluating FX risk & designing/determining UK hedging strategy in partnership with EMEA/APAC Controller and Group Treasury.Support Client Finance in understanding significant events impacting their business and overall understanding of their financial results.Review and sign of off Balance sheet reconciliations and journals. Beyond that, provide proactive resolution over financial processes; especially in relation to working capital improvements.Detailed analysis of P&L and Balance sheet variances using advanced excel skills and writing of clear concise commentary to aid understanding of key drivers.Working closely with the financial reporting team in the comparison of actual vs forecasted results.Ownership of the year-end and hard close audits.Assisting the shared service centre in the timely preparation of the annual financial statements including guidance on any complex accounting issues.Ensuring compliance of Group controls and reporting monthly on these controls. Co-ordination of the associated internal control audits and internal audits.

Qualifications

Experience Guidelines:

Education:
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)2/3 years PQE with experience of managing a small team
