Deerfoot IT Recruitment is helping a collaborative company recruit a Platform Engineer, and the role comes with an attractive salary of £50,000-110,000.The flexible Platform Engineer will be working for a leading cloud and digital services supplier, working as part of an agile team to help clients build and continuously improve digital services using the best of open-source software. Successful candidates must be willing to undergo SC-level Security Clearance and although the role will be primarily remote candidates must be able to travel to one of the following office locations - Trafford (Manchester), Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle.To give you an idea of how this Platform Engineer role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:Undertake cross-functional engineering projects, work in small teams with other engineers in different knowledge spheres, and build supportable, sustainable and reliable servicesWork with IT strategy based on user-centric design, modern open source technology, continuous integration/delivery, and modern software architectures, such as microservices and cloud technologiesDevelop and progress whilst working on large-scale, technically challenging projectsAttend conferences, support tech meetups, take part in hackathons, gain industry-recognised certification and much, much moreWe are looking for Platform/DevOps Engineers with an appetite to extend their knowledge and apply new skills rapidly on challenging projects. You'll bring a broad range of experience in modern open-source stacks. Some of the skills we seek include:Experience debugging complex, multi-server services in a high-availability production environmentGood communication skills both in a written and verbal format, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and conciselyExtremely sound knowledge of GNU/LinuxExperience building infrastructure in AWS using TerraformIn return for your passion and expertise, you will receive an excellent benefits package, including a salary of £50,000 to £110,000.
