The Opportunity
Bring your expertise in Identity and Access Management to the heart of Parliament, where you'll help us provide secure access to critical services. As our technical subject matter expert, you will take the lead on defining and delivering a vision for identity and access across the Parliamentary estate. This is a fascinating opportunity to use technology to support the delivery of democracy and protection of high value accounts. Leading and developing a small team, you will keep on top of an evolving landscape of cyber threats.
As the owner of innovative technology products and services, you will drive continuous improvement and ensure maximum value for users. To enable you to keep pace with evolving technology and emerging threats, you can look forward to good opportunities for development. You can expect to:
collaborate with colleagues across the Digital Service and beyond to provide a highly available, secure and reliable identity and access service
maintain standards of excellence across the user experience - from accessibility, to reliability, performance and quality
own the day-to-day management of the product service backlog, removing blockers and prioritising the flow of work to keep user need at the heart of our work
promote and optimise the use of monitoring and analytics tools, so we can track performance and uptake metrics for the product and service, and develop automated processes for predicting issues
help to shape architecture, roadmap and standards for identity and access management
provide technical direction and advice to programmes and projects, proactively seeking ways to address complex organisational and technical issues through technological innovation
What You Need
We are looking for an identity and access management expert with a commitment to making a difference and plenty of ideas about the right ways forward. To thrive in this challenging and fast-paced environment, you will need:
experience in successfully designing, implementing and supporting identity and access management solutions
working knowledge of PKI infrastructures (ideally utilising HSMs) and certificate management, and a wide range of Active Directory / Azure Active Directory features
proven ability to motivate, lead and develop a diverse team
excellent communication skills in writing and in person - from reporting on performance against targets, to collaborating on the development of our roadmap
strong commitment to customer service, with a demonstrable understanding of customer needs
the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

The Identity and Access Management team sits within the wider Platforms team. We are a small team, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to our customers including (Lords/Members and Parliaments supporting admin staff).
