By providing expertise and insight, we support our members, partners and stakeholders as they prepare the UK for what comes next in a constantly changing world.The Role:We are looking for an energetic and organised intern in our Telecoms cluster, to help the team deliver on positive impact of a connected future for all, and the opportunities for enterprise and the public sector in adopting advanced communications services. The internship offers the opportunity to be involved in our events programme, working groups exploring telecoms security, infrastructure deployment, private 5G/Wi-Fi networks for enterprise, spectrum policy and the satellite sector.Working directly with techUK's Head of Telecoms and Spectrum Policy, this internship will place the right candidate within a highly influential and dynamic team with a track record of delivering major policy outcomes for the tech and telecoms sector. As Telecoms Intern you would support the work programmes: Communications Infrastructure and Services, Satellite Applications and Services and the UK Spectrum Policy Forum. The candidate will be positioned between policy makers and a diverse, complex and fast-moving industry facing a number of challenging issues.You will work closely with our members and stakeholders and be responsible for delivering individual strands of work; from thought leadership pieces through to assisting in the creation and running of high-profile events.Key Responsibilities:Conduct desk-based researchCompile briefing notes, summaries, reports and presentationsMaintain parts of the techUK website relating to telecoms and spectrumCo-ordinate any relevant meetings as requestedMaintain all relevant records on techUK's CRM system as requestedBuild a strong working relationship with techUK colleaguesAny other duties that may be required from time-to-timePerson Specification:Essential knowledge and experience:An interest in the UK technology sectorStrong capability in researching, collating and presenting informationExcellent writing skillsA team player committed to helping colleagues meet their objectivesDesired Knowledge and Experience:A broad understanding of the UK telecoms and spectrum policy landscapeAn appreciation of the policy and regulatory issues facing the telecoms sectorAdditional Information:This is a full-time role based in techUK's London offices with flexibility for hybrid working. The role is offered on a 4 month basis starting in September 2022. techUK has a strong track record of internal promotion and development.
