Location: Canary Wharf WFH policy: Employees are required to attend the office 2 days/week (exceptions made during lockdowns in line with UK Government guidance)
Flexible working: Informal flexible work patterns subject to line manager discretion including a 9-day fortnight.

Overview of the role: Part of the Data & Analytics team, the Modeller reports to the Head of Analytics. The main purpose of the role is to build, maintain and operate various models, data flows and scripts that are used by different areas in the business to forecast, analyse, streamline processes and generate insights that develop the business strategy.

Job responsibilities:

Sourcing, cleansing, and maintaining datasets required for modelling purposes.
Designing and building short- and long-term energy models, used in forecasting,
Analysis and for generating insights that support various strategic initiatives.
Supporting other teams with modelling, analysis, and automation.
Producing high quality technical documentation.
Identifying and streamlining inefficient processes.
Testing and deploying updates to the models.


Requirements:

- 2:1 equivalent or higher Bachelor/master’s degree in a STEM subject.
- Experience in Python is required.
- Experience in R.
- SQL is desirable.
- Experience in modelling.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Good team worker.
- Able to seize initiative and be pro-active.
- Working knowledge of machine learning tools and statistical techniques is desirable.
- Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming is desirable.
- Understanding of the electricity market is desirable.
