Halifax - Heavily remote role with occasional office trips (typically once per month)

Salary & Benefits: £35,656 -£44,570 (depending on experience) base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. Together we make it possible! What will I do?

You'll work in a highly collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our frontend client software, working in partnership with a range of teams, encountering lots of exciting new challenges. You'll become a core contributor ensuring quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy.

As the ideal Software Engineer, we'll need you to possess a "can-do" demeanour, capable of bootstrapping projects and working optimally with multi-disciplinary, internal and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle.You'll build relationships and work efficiently with others across a variety of domains, subject areas and locations. Be passionate about technology and its application to real-world problems with strong Computer Science fundamentals. You'll demonstrate design and UX capabilities and have excellent communication skills with the ability to explain ideas and problems clearly to non-development colleagues and partners.

You'll build efficient and reusable front-end systems and abstractions, find and address performance issues, participate in design and code reviews. You'll also identify general improvements and implement front-end methodologies, collaborate with the product/design team to iterate the design function and implement the products and collaborate with various stakeholders to build features and experiments. We are open to applicants with extensive experience and also recent graduates with some commercial experience. Knowledge & Experience

Java development experience

Experience in building and designing UI user journeys

Use Web services incorporating: SOAP, REST+JSON, XML

Git (source code repository)

Experience of working in SaaS/PaaS cloud computing frameworks

Tools:

Modern dev tool (IDE) such as Eclipse, Intellij IDEA

Web services test tool: Postman

XML spy to accommodate XSLT programming, Workday integration templates, Workday Studio
