A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.WHAT TO EXPECT
The role will involve utilising virtual engineering tools to lead the concept development and problem resolution of BIW Doors with cross-functional teams. This role will develop new technologies, methodologies and the system integration across the business, with input into the geometry of the vehicle programmes.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Responsible for concept development and problem resolution with both Core and Programme teams, with the use of virtual engineering tools
* Deliver vehicle programme geometry as required
* Provide support and mentoring to Computer Aided Design Engineers and non-Computer Aided Designer Engineers in defining the information required to produce robust models and system / sub-system solutions
* Manage and continuously improve the Associative Vehicle Architecture models and development of appropriate standards
* Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
WHAT YOU NEED
Knowledge, Skills and experience
Essential:
* Significant experience of using virtual engineering tools particularly Catia V5/V6
* Significant experience creating/using parametric modelling networks to generate geometry and compatible interfaces
* Technical and practical knowledge of BIW Door componentry and designing for Stamping and Casting processes
* Previous programme delivery experience, with strong influencing and engagement skills
* Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
Desirable:
* Experience of concept generation and cross functionality problem resolution
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of specific car components, or systems and sub-systems
* Strong project management skills
