We strive for the highest quality in all that we do - pushing boundaries isn't just encouraged, it is expected.  We are seeking to recruit two new appointments at Head of Service level within the IT Department.  Successful candidates will be assigned to lead and take responsibility of one of the areas listed below:

Service Assurance and Compliance/IT Customer Services/IT Product Development and Delivery

As part of the Senior Leadership team within IT, you will lead a function responsible for a range of IT services to the University, its staff, students and partners.  TIS aims to deliver IT that works, increases digital capabilities for staff and students, and a seamless end-to-end digital experience for all our stakeholders. You will be responsible for contributing to strategic business planning and for delivering the services within the function, ensuring the right people, skills and ways of working are in place to meet its business objectives. You will work with colleagues across TIS to ensure that appropriate, structured processes are in place and that current and new IT services are effective and efficient. In addition, you will work with others across the University to ensure the services delivered remain fit for purpose and meet changing business needs, bring in knowledge from across the sector and industry to ensure the University continues to develop, and deliver a high quality digital experience in line with strategic aims and business plans.

You will ideally hold an MBA or other professional qualification, such as FBCS or CITP, or will have demonstrable equivalent experience, as well as a relevant professional qualification in an IT related discipline.  You should be a practitioner in ITIL version 3, PRINCE2 and/or Agile with demonstrable practical experience of managing teams within these environments.

A strong understanding of the business processes that underpin an organisation focusing on the role of information provision will be required, along with a good knowledge of contemporary software industry techniques and trends.  You will have an expert knowledge of business systems and operational processes across all platform environments.

These are full-time positions working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.  Flexible working patterns may be considered.
