As part of our Keep Me on Track lab you'll be joining us at an exciting time as we transform the services, we offer our Corporate Pensions customers. You will help shape our strategy and drive how we deploy, verify, and monitor our applications and services

About the role:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer within the Keep me on Track lab you'll have the opportunity to work on large scale engineering change and to be part of a team driving the DevOps agenda within the bank.

We understand that DevOps is a very broad set of disciplines and no one person can be an expert in all aspects. If you have the right technical background, a willingness to be part of an ambitious team and are willing to develop yourself then we're keen to hear from you!

Here's where you'll make a difference

You will focus on improving the overall quality of product build, deployments, monitoring and alerting, with emphasis on automation, resilience, stability, scalability and security.

You'll help support and grow our quality documentation of infrastructure and operational procedures.

Work closely with stakeholders as well as development teams, you'll contribute to the wider DevOps community within the bank and help enhance our growing group of DevOps engineers within the bank.

What we need from you:

Broad awareness of the DevOps landscape

Build strong relationships with stakeholders and development teams to understand our code, it's dependencies and infrastructure on which it runs.

Good technical knowledge of one or more specific areas of DevOps tooling, such as:

CI / CD

DevOps tools (Nexus, GIT, Jenkins)

Hands on knowledge of containerisation & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes,, Helm etc.)

Public and Private cloud platforms (GCP, ICP, Azure, AWS)

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible)

Source control platforms (Git/GitLab/GHE, Bitbucket etc..)

Test automation tools

Security best practices

Experience is distributed systems

Experience in management tools, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk, Dynatrace

 

Strong core OS level skills (e.g. UNIX/LINUX/Windows) with supporting industry standard scripting skills

Good Knowledge of network protocols & security

Experience configuring and working with Istio service mesh would be highly beneficial.
