The Opportunity

Your expertise in delivering digital projects and programmes will be at the heart of the modernisation of Parliament. Working on behalf of the Managing Director of the Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS) you'll collaboratively develop and plan a digital roadmap to bring Parliament to more people using the power of digital. As a member of the Digital Senior Leadership Group, you will support the overall success of digital within both Houses and can expect to:

develop effective mechanisms for collating digital investment demand management and delivery planning, working closely with other strategic delivery initiatives across Parliament

ensure successful delivery of programmes and projects, ensuring appropriate ownership of top-level delivery risks, issues and dependencies

work with stakeholders to evolve overarching investment delivery governance

chair our Digital Portfolio Board and represent digital planning and delivery on other strategy and investment boards

manage the overall baseline and investment budget for investment delivery, adhering to all relevant policy and guidance

have professional oversight of all planning, BRM, delivery, change, analysis and technical delivery professions

What You Need

Ensuring our information assets are protected will require a blend of technical and leadership skills. You will bring:

a track-record of success in delivering programmes and projects in areas such as cloud computing, infrastructure, third-party products and software development in a complex organisation

highly effective leadership and stakeholder management skills

an ability to set objectives, make decisions, and carry out financial and resource planning

strategic and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and plan across multiple time horizons

experience of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams in an agile environment, drawing on the skills and expertise of user research, design, content and testing

the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

About The Team

Planning and Delivery harnesses the power of digital to meet the needs of Members and their staff in fulfilling their parliamentary duties. We enable the two administrations to provide effective procedural and information support to the Chambers and Committees of the two Houses. Crucially, we ensure that investment spend is aligned to the needs of Parliament and is successfully delivered to the priorities set by the governance model.
