Responsible for monitoring, management, maintenance, and support of Liverpool City Council's Oracle database infrastructure, the postholder will undertake incident management, fault resolution and recovery of designated architecture, systems, and applications in order to meet OLA/SLAs and to maintain service excellence.  The role also involves project engineering in accordance with task specifications and deadlines and can include team leadership and project co-ordination when necessary.  As well as fulfilling the technical requirements of the role, the postholder will also mentor the junior engineers and collaborate with other Technical Specialists, both within the DBA team and across the wider Service, in order to maintain and improve service delivery.

In addition to a competitive salary, the successful candidate has access to a generous pension scheme and flexible working conditions which can include some working from home.  Opportunities for training are available when needed to ensure skills remain extant.  Normally Monday to Friday, the contract is 35 hours across seven days at the discretion of management and may occasionally include some unsocial hours.  Overtime or time in lieu is offered for any additional hours worked.
