About The Role
In the role of an VMware - Infrastructure Engineer you will:
Provide a deep level of technical knowledge responsible for designs, build, implementation of technical solutions to provide Business Value and Infrastructure road-maps.
Own complex production incidents and problem, collaborating with other technical teams to troubleshoot and ensure a complete resolution.
Co-ordinate initiatives to deliver service improvements allocating tasks to colleagues and ensuring completion of work to agreed quality criteria and timescales.
Continually assess ways of working in order to develop or revise artefacts and processes that improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
A role model within the team who provides mentoring and coaching to peers and junior team members.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrable broad expertise in their technical discipline with considerable depth in chosen specialist areas.
Professional technical certification or similar
Working in AgileDevopsSafE models would be an advantage.
Financial services experience
Experience of using the Microsoft Office products to create and manage documentation.
Experience of working in a complex, pressurised production environment.
Highly proficient in VMware vSphere & related technologies
Highly proficient in Cisco UCS & HPE infrastructure
Highly proficient in managing and using vRealize Operations Manager to monitor and administer a virtualised environment
Experience using and managing VMware Management products such as vRealize Automation and vRealize Log Insight
A solid understanding and experience managing VMware Site Recovery Manager
Experience designing and implementing VMware solutions
In-depth understanding of virtualisation architectures and previous experience supporting
Experience in shaping and delivering strategy via major projects using VMware products
An appreciation of Hyper Converged Infrastructure using VCF and Dell VxRail technologies
Other essential information:
Able to work under pressure.
Thorough, with a good attention to detail.
Deliver to agreed timescales.
Flexible approach to working hours to meet own objectives and assist colleagues in meeting their objectives.
Hours: 35 - Mon to Fri (9am to 5pm) plus availability for out-of-hours support, on a Call-out rota basis.
