Job Description The VMware Engineer will work within a designated project team using established technologies there to aid and support the successful migrations of our Private Cloud customers over to the new flagship Enterprise Cloud service.This role and team spans engagement with sales and solution architects to support the sound from the customer through to delivery and operations to ensure standardisation of services, process and supportability are all considered. Technologies span both platforms, development technologies and tools that are used to underpins the services we offer and how we deliver and support them.This role will have visibility to customers as well as vendor suppliers as a figurehead of our technology choices.Please note that this is a Fixed term contract with a potential to be permanent for the right candidate. Fully UK remote role. Role and responsibilitiesWork co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.Facilitate effective working relationship between Cloud Services and wider business.Monitor progress of work, providing feedback and real-time information regarding progress, throughout the lifecycle of the any work.Responsible for technical or functional escalation when needed.Platform license management and reporting.Provide problem management to cloud services related issues.Maintain documentation in the relevant systems appropriate to the environment.Ensure that all new and change customer solutions are built to an agreed standard and that project teams are communicated to with all required information during the delivery phases.SkillsComprehensive track record working with VMWare technologies and architectures.Good experience and techniques migrating VMware workloads to alternate platforms.Experience working with Microsoft Windows Servers generations and services, (Active Directory, DNS)Solid understanding of networking, IP addressing, firewalling and DNS.Experience of working within a managed service provider environment.Logical approach to problem solving.Able to identify when a problem may require escalation.Polite and constructive whist dealing with all customers.Maintain a high standards of work and professionalism.Personal determination to increase knowledge and competences.Excellent communication skillsBenefitsFully remoteCompetitive salaryBirthday off
