Software Development Team Lead

As Software Development Team Leader you  will be part of a leading global satellite networks service provider as part of their continued growth.

As Software Development Team Leader you will report to the Head of Technology & Networks, and coordinating and guiding the development team in both designing and writing code, which will include

• Leading development projects across predominantly Linux, LAMP (CentOS, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl), Bash, Python, ReactJS, AngularJS and utilise JIRA and BitBucket.
• Ensuring the multi-site team performs the tasks, meets deadlines (as best they can), and delegate development tasks within the team and communicate progress with other managers.
• Sprint planning and task delegation, leading development team(s) to timely delivery
• Improving internal development processes and practices
• Supporting and Mentoring others

• Developing and contributing to the architecture and technical solutions from requirement capture, design, through to code level according to Agile design principles (incl. the SCRUM methodology).
• Define delivery phases of the project including activities, sub-activities and milestones ensuring these are documented.
• Participating in PDF reviews to provide updates on project progress to stake holders

To be considered for the role of Software Development Team Leader you will:

• Be educated to degree level or equivalent in Computer Science / Programming or related discipline
• Have previous commercial experience developing software and managing projects
• Have experience with
  • Linux (Redhat, CentOS, Ubunta)
  • the LAMP stack (CentOS, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
  • CodeIgniter/MVC
  • Perl
  • Bash
  • Python
  • ReactJS

• Have experience managing developments using Scrum within a JIRA/Bit Bucket environment.
• Have strong background in developing object-oriented PHP solutions with CodeIgniter MVC
• Have good understanding of the web UI layer (HTML, CSS, JS);
• Have good understanding of SQL and/or MySQL
• Eligible for SC security clearance
