Modis are currently working with an exciting start-up who have created an exciting platform focused on Computer Vision applications within AI.Due to a successful funding round they are in the market for an experienced Head of Research to join their UK team. This role can be remote but a candidate in London would be preferable.Responsibilities include:Management of an R&D Team (ML Engineers and Data Scientists)Responsible for Technical ExcellenceCommunicate with Engineering Team to integrate research developments into existing and new productsIdentify latest developments within ML and focus research projects accordinglyWork closely with management team to define, plan, and deliver all AI products and featuresThe role will be exposed to a broad tech stack (e.g. ReactJS, Python, REST & GraphQL APIs, PyTorch, OpenCV, AWS, GCP,& CUDA, Kubernetes) and the cutting edge of computer vision and deep learning.The right candidate will have a proven track record of relevant publications and previous experience managing applied research teams. Requirements for the role include:* Strong communication and team management skills* 5+ years experience working in computer vision or deep learning research* Strong experience in mathematical programming, algorithmic problem solving, and applied machine learning* Strong Python and machine learning libraries* Strong experience in algorithmic problem solving, mathematical programming, and applied machine learning.This is a key hire for the business and they are interviewing immediately, candidates should apply here for assessment.
