At the Environment Agency there's so much more to our work than building flood risk management schemes or regulating industry. We strive to ensure that everything we do counts towards leaving a legacy to be proud of - for people, communities, and the environment - for all of us to enjoy and for future generations.

We're looking for a Project Support Officer where communication and organisation are essential, giving our teams the support, they need by efficiently and accurately handling project information. In this valued role, you will gain in-depth understanding of large-scale projects that are having a hugely positive effect across the country.

There'll be lots to do: data processing, preparation of newsletters and briefings, reporting and meetings to support. Anything and everything to help colleagues be ever-more effective in their roles. You'll accompany project managers on site visits and help out with community events. As you grow in confidence, we will support your ambitions too and help you use the experience as a spring-board for your career.

With so many contacts across the Environment Agency, it's also important that you're positive, enjoy helping colleagues, promote collaboration and take pride in your work.

The Team:

We are Programme and Contracts Management (PCM), part of Major Projects and Programme Delivery (MPPD), creating a better place through excellence in project and programme management.

You will become part of an award-winning team that provides areas, alongside national services, and centres, with an effective project/ programme management service. Our strong, well-qualified teams manage projects throughout their life-cycle to deliver environmental improvements, adding value and resulting in a greater sense of shared ownership with local communities.

Experience/Skills Required:

A level standard qualification is desirable and PRINCE2 Foundation or APM Foundation is an advantage. It's important you're confident in MS office too. Whilst time spent in project support or project management will help, more important is your interest in the work and exceptional talent for organisation and planning.

Naturally, we want you to be the best in your field. So, expect training and development that helps you grow professionally. We will also pay your fees for one professional membership.

Contact and Additional Information

The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce which reflects the communities we serve.

As part of the role you may be required to co-locate and work at other Environment Agency and delivery partner offices across the South East Delivery Hub. You may also be required to attend national meetings in locations such as London and Birmingham, with some overnight stays.

When providing evidence for competencies within your application, please give examples of how you clearly demonstrate these either within the context of this role or as transferable skills.

We will be holding interviews for these roles w/c 7th March 2022 and more detailed information will be sent to the successful candidates.  We will endeavour to inform you of the outcome of your application at the earliest opportunity and we appreciate your understanding and patience whilst we assess applications.

CVs or other documents attached to your application will not be assessed for selection.

Closing date: 15 Feb. Interview Date: w/c 7th March 2022.
