We have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join the Technology team. The Technology and Infrastructure team is responsible for delivering first class technical solutions to the business. The team members are proactive, responsive business enablers that deliver competitive advantage by choosing, implementing, and supporting the use of information technology. They take ownership of delivering the day-to-day workload, as well as exciting transformative projects. They are a delivery focused team and have great relationships with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers. The UKTV technology team are geographically dispersed with bases in Leeds and the HQ in Hammersmith, London.

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for a DevOps engineer who is passionate about deploying and maintaining scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services for Broadcast Media applications:

Core technical team member working with colleagues in development and operations

DevOps delivery using standard pattern with best practices at core

Platforms build, maintained, and supported using infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated testing and automated deployment

In this role you will get to:

Work with best of breed systems and tooling, on a tech stack that has been designed from the ground up to run IaC with best practice principles at its core.

We are looking for someone who has:

Strong Infrastructure as Code knowledge of CloudFormation, Terraform or SAM

Strong networking fundamentals; including tcp/ip, vpns and routing

Experience managing multiple AWS environments

Strong scripting skills e.g. Bash, Python, JS

Strong AWS fundamentals in services such as Lambda, API GW, R53, S3 and Step Functions

Knowledge of YAML based CiCD platforms e.g., BitBucket CI, Gitlab CI, Travis CI

Knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework

Who you are:

You can demonstrate ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges

Have or are working towards an AWS Certification

Working with Kanban/Agile software development methodology

Experience with distributed logging and monitoring

Experience with Docker

Exposure to Broadcast or OTT media workflows an advantage

Experience / Exposure to the cucumber testing framework
