Introduction:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SQL developer/database administrator/data engineer to join our business and to create a big impact across our two brands. This will be a stand-alone role, where you will have sole responsibility for the SQL Server database and will be the key voice in determining our long-term data strategy and our journey to become a data driven organisation.

Key Duties:
Maintain, develop, and enhance the business critical operational and MI systems used across all functions to improve the efficiency of our internal operations and user experience.
Gather reporting requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring reports are intuitive for business users and can adapt to changing needs.
Drive the standardisation, quality and accessibility of visualisation reporting in PowerBI and Excel.
Ensure that MI meets the needs of the business with a reporting suite that is easy to use, scalable, flexible, and robust, and that serves the day-to-day business and that improves business intelligence.
Manage and administer existing database environments, performing analysis and monitoring to improve response and reliability through architectural and data storage advancements.
Provide SQL engineering for further development and automation of processes.
Partner with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that IT plays an enabling role in helping others achieve their role and objectives.
Deliver the technical requirements for new client implementations and onboarding.
Maintain the security of our data and ensure that all systems and processes are compliant with GDPR and ISO 27001 and ensure a robust SQL backup and restore strategy (full system, user and transactional).
Assist with the day-to-day tasks with the IT department, including telephony, to help ensure the smooth running of the department and the business.
About You:
Essential criteria
Advanced-level SQL Server, Power BI and Excel skills.
Ability to design, implement and manage databases in SQL Server.
Exceptional and proven technical knowledge with cloud-based software and Microsoft Azure SQL Database.
Hands-on experience maintaining software using back-end technologies in .NET, Entity Framework.
Strong experience in Data Engineering / Database Development.
Extensive experience of creating reports using SQL.
An innovative mind and an ability to identify issue trends and implement solutions.
Ability to interpret business needs and express them as a logical IT requirement.
Highly numerate, analytical, and logical, with attention to detail and the ability to systematically break apart complex problems.
An enthusiastic and self-starter with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
An enthusiastic self-starter demonstrating ownership with a "can-do" attitude.
Excellent communication with strong time and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable
Front-end development experience in React
Understanding of RESTfulAPIs
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems (or equivalent)
Salary and Benefits:
£47,000 to £55,000 per annum plus 10% bonus
Can be worked remotely

Contract:
This is a permanent position and a full-time role.
