Bioinformatics Software Engineer - HYBRID/San Fran - up to $160,000Bioinformatics Software Engineer Work with a company leading the way in bettering the world now and for future generationsImpact the cutting edge of scientific discovery and solutions through understanding our DNAFantastic salary plus benefitsWhat you will do: Impact the way genetic tests inform people about their health risks and help build family planning and personal health platformsCombine your technical skills, passion for excellent engineering, and bioinformatics expertise to write reliable, production-grade software to help build a system to store, analyze, and utilize genomics and health informationKey requirements: Work in a team to scope, define, and articulate solutions to complex computing and information management challengesLead and take ownership of key components that are appropriate for your skills and experienceUse your top-notch software engineering skills to develop robust, well-tested codeContribute to the architecture and operations of our computing infrastructureExcellent skills in Python and, ideally, familiarity with other languagesExperience with biological sequence data storage and analysis for genome interpretation, pharmacogenetics, and/or polygenic risk assessmentExperience with Linux/Unix and cloud computing and cluster orchestration, such as AWS EC2 and S3, Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, and related technologiesExperience with workflow systems, and ideally those used for bioinformatics and sequence analysisExperience and comfort with modern software development, unit testing, CI/CD, and devopsFamiliarity with information architecture strategies, ideally using a combination of relational, non-relational, and message schema toolsAbility to thrive in a nimble start-up environment with changing prioritiesAwesome if you have experience with any of: sequence analysis, ETL pipelines, analytics, ML/AI, system security, full-stack teamwork Additional note: even if you are not sure if you fully qualify, I'm here to talk about it!
