BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER

OVERVIEW:

Our client is a global healthcare company, also becoming the leading company of it's specialism in the UK. Through tremendous growth they are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer as they bring data visualisation back in house in the UK.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Collects, analyse and shares data to help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience, and business results.Utilizes database and reporting technologies to design, develop, and evaluate innovative business intelligence tools and automated reports.Designs, develops and tests BI solutions such as databases, data warehouses, queries and views, reports, and dashboards.Performs data conversions, imports, and exports of data within and between internal and external software systems.Integrates BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.Enhances the performance of business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index.Documents new and existing models, solutions, and implementations.Contribute to the appropriate Agile ceremonies.Translate business needs to technical specificationsDesign, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy)Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)Conduct unit testing and troubleshootingEvaluate and improve existing BI systemsCollaborate with teams to integrate systemsDevelop and execute database queries and conduct analysesCreate visualizations and reports for requested projectsAnalyze existing reports and optimize them for standardization across the company.Develop and update technical documentation

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Proven experience working as a BI DeveloperBackground in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data miningUnderstanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworkFamiliarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI,DAX)Extensive knowledge of SQL and data manipulation languagesKnowledge of the Azure Data FactoryProven abilities to take initiative and be innovativeAnalytical mind with a problem-solving aptitudeExperience in agile methodologies desired; including: SCRUM; Kanban; etc.Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovativeAnalytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
