We're currently recruiting for a permanent Quality Assurance and Release Manager to join us to work in collaboration with our SAP and Finance systems teams at Penguin Random House UK. In this newly created role, you'll provide expertise and effective solutions to support the efficiency of our internal system releases. You'll play an integral role in an agile team to provide a holistic view of testing and releasing, delivering and deploying developments, and managing general releases into test environments. In this role, some of your responsibilities will include: Test execution, tracking and reporting: Involving Test team, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Application Support team and business users. Deployment process into the live environment. Building relationships with external suppliers and internal development teams to define and manage a pipeline of delivery, testing, and deployment. Identifying, managing and communicating any risks and dependencies between releases. Working with Project Managers to ensure go live dates are communicated and co-ordinated with operational activity. Working with application teams to design and implement changes to the test and release processes for all applications impacted by changes to the testing environments. Co-ordination of release plans ensuring effective communication is in place with the business. Coordination of UAT testing, liaising with end users to ensure requirements and timescales are communicated, planned and understood. Managing delivery from both internal teams and 3rd party vendors, ensuring any issues and concerns over delivery and quality are managed, understood and resolved. Provide regular progress reports as required to the team and stakeholders across the business. Working with project teams to ensure any project delivered developments are tested and released into the live environment as part of a controlled release process. Some of the key technical experience includes: Knowledge of test automation methodologies and experience of implementing test automation best practices. Expertise in SAP Experience of using testing tracking tools, e.g. JIRA. Experience in using automated testing tools (ideally Silk Test and Solman). Experience of writing manual and automated test scripts, test plans and documentation. Proven track record of testing medium to large technical changes and regression testing. Experience of testing application code. Understanding of interface testing and middleware.
