What you will do as a Solution Architect:

You will work alongside our development and devops teams to aid in delivering the most effective and performant software possible. You will lead the design and build of our key applications and integrations identifying the best solutions to meet the business needs with a commercial and security conscious approach as well as best technological direction.

On a day-to-day basis, we are looking for somebody to:

Design the product solution/Software Architecture

Supports the coaching and training of team members to ensure all necessary employees are confident in the use of software applications and relevant security protocols taking a lead in engineering best practice

Oversight and approval of all final products before formal launch

Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and requirements for software providing technical leadership across Software Architecture

Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently, fine tune existing product design to ensure a productive workplace

Works closely with the wider business to improve business software processes and interactions

Use a proactive approach to common challenges and by continually researching best practices in coding

Ensuring software security by ensuring security by design is included in approach

Data modelling and data architecture design and implementation

Documentation of solution (i.e., design patterns, application architecture, data modelling, etc)

What we are looking for as Solution Architect:

A minimum of 3 years but ideally 5 in an architectural role with previous experience in software development

Experience in designing and implementing software applications

Strong experience of PHP and MySQL and a clear understanding of the limitations of these technologies as well as experience of trouble shooting issues

Experience of JavaScript/HTML/CSS, MySQL, Couchbase, Solr & MongoDB

Experience working on large-scale software projects and moving from monolithic to microservices architecture

Demonstrated knowledge of web applications, cybersecurity and open-source technologies designing secure software systems based upon industry-specific specifications

Outstanding collaboration and communication skill are essential

Experience overseeing customized development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously

Experience analysing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them

Broad range of experience in IT architecture and ideally a good understanding of GCP

Cloud frameworks, structures, and components

Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, and preferably experience of delivering solutions through cloud environments.

Someone with the ability to work out what the user wants, seeing beyond what they say they want, to delivering what they really need and taking them on that journey

Knowledge / experience working with large data volumes; This is one of out biggest challenges.

Ecommerce experience as an ideal, but not required
