As a Barclays Solutions Designer within the COO Office, you will be responsible for low level design, hands-on coding, unit tests and integrated journeys for all integrations that will be as a part of a Connected platform. Working with industry start up in finance/retail domain and some big brand merchants, Digital Receipts, BINK Loyalty, Financing purchases over POS, improving digital spending and payment optimisations, Consumer scale - One Digital (Bringing more customer on digital platforms) and Pricing and Billing. Producing and maintaining artefacts such as high level designs, architecture diagrams, solution design, sequence diagrams, decision logs etc.
Software engineering best practices - TDD/BDD, build automation, code quality and metrics, static and dynamic code analysis, usage of versioning systems, code review etc.
Infrastructure elements such as firewalls, certificates, network topology, ssl, mutual auth etc.
Building relationships with wider architecture/engineering community
Providing governance cover to teams by representing them in architectural forums committees and obtaining necessary approvals
What we're looking for:
Hands on development, Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring boot, JDBC, MongoDB, MariaDB, Swagger or RAML, REST standards
Experience in building s/w frameworks for enterprise scale applications
Experience in HLD, LLD, Development, Testing
Good communications skills and experience in stakeholder management
Skills that will help you in the role:
Preferred Qualifications: BE/BTech/Equivalent graduate degree
Good to have skills in CICD Pipelines, Jenkins build tools, RedHat Openshift Cloud Infra, DevOPs etc. Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
