As our tech evolves, so will your career  The challenge Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. As an IT Support Technician, you'll be joining us at an exciting time, as we take our tech to a new level. That means there are great opportunities to progress, along with our organisation.                                  The role As part of a dedicated IT team working within a hybrid support model, you'll provide first and second line technical support for all kinds of IT issues. Day to day, you'll triage incidents and service requests, and then work to resolve them. Service users could be working abroad, from home or in our offices. In short, the role is all about monitoring and maintaining vital systems and IT services, allowing ONR to continue to be an effective regulator. That means you'll be installing and configuring software applications; performing housekeeping checks; and looking for ways that improve our service. Whether you're troubleshooting problems, updating systems or talking colleagues through tech, the key is to build relationships and provide expert support.   The person We use hundreds of different apps - and more are being introduced all the time. To join us, you'll need to know how to support Cloud Services and a hybrid workplace. Experienced in incident management, you're a confident professional who has worked in an ITIL framework and applied ITSM processes. Your expertise is backed up by a CompTIA A+ qualification and Microsoft Technical Associate (MTA) status in Cloud Fundamentals (or equivalent). Along with these technical talents, you'll bring sound people skills. Able to explain tech simply, you'll connect with stakeholders across the business. The rewards We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £26,188 to £30,966 plus a London Weighting allowance of £4,052 (if applicable). Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement.
