The Met Office is recruiting for a IT Security & Compliance Lead based at our Exeter HQ.

As our IT Security & Compliance Lead , the starting salary will be £37418.00 with opportunities to progress to £41159.00 over time. New joiners to the Met Office will start on the salary band minima.

This role attracts a market forces supplement of £2,250 per annum paid quarterly, pro-rated from the date of taking up the appointment to 31 March 2022 - this scheme is currently under review.

Our total reward package is potentially worth up to £55216.00 per annum, which includes basic salary, market forces supplement, potential corporate bonus, employer pension contributions. We operate hybrid working. That means 40% of your time will be in office to work collaboratively with colleagues, and 60% deciding with your manager what works best for you. If that means working from home we will support you to do so; and if you work better together with colleagues then you can choose to work in our extraordinary office for up to 100% of the time. Job Purpose

The Digital Workplace team is transforming how it focuses its resources to better deliver outcomes for our services that in turn benefit our customers. Providing a proactive, efficient, and reliable IT service that is fit for purpose but agile enough to respond to the fast-changing cyber security landscape is essential to our IT service continuity.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

Technical knowledge of Microsoft security and identity technologies such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

Knowledge of security standards, policies, and governance frameworks such as the Cabinet Office Minimum Cyber Security Standard, Cyber Essentials, ISO/IEC 27001

Technical knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems

Technical knowledge of environmental management systems or controls to implement and maintain secure configuration such as Ivanti Security Controls, System Center Configuration Manager and Group Policy

Technical knowledge or awareness of infrastructure monitoring solutions such as System Center Operations Manager and Tenable.IO

Knowledge and working practice with IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
