Using your technical expertise, you will identify technical optimisations and improvements and use your problem-solving skills to independently investigate, identify and resolve complex technical issues.

Security will be high on your agenda as you use your knowledge of internal and external security standards and your experience of system backup, disaster recovery and business continuity to keep our systems and services running; taking a key role in ensuring that our systems and service availability meet the requirements of a 24/7 emergency service.

You'll already have a strong understanding of infrastructure technologies and experience of maintaining, patching and resolving issues with enterprise grade systems and infrastructure, including physical systems, virtual systems and cloud platform. You will also have specific skills in one or more of the following key technologies Active Directory, network working, relational databases, virtualisation (Citrix & VMWare), Office 365, Azure cloud, Mobile Device Management, SAN storage and enterprise grade backup solutions.

Working closely with our suppliers, national, regional and local partners and Force stakeholders you will play a key hands-on role in service monitoring, reporting and alerting, problem management of the technology stack and providing support to our Solutions Architects, Solutions Developers and Support teams.

The role also involves performing on-call, which attracts additional payment, on a rota basis to provide support and assistance out of hours for critical IT related issues. You therefore must hold a full current driving licence to allow you to attend site at short notice.

At Leicestershire Police we are committed to developing our people and being at the forefront of innovation, utilising the latest technology so that we can support our communities effectively. We are supportive, we're accepting and we're friendly - you'll feel it from day one - being part of something bigger, something that makes a difference. We also appreciate the importance of work life balance and welfare which is why we implement flexible and agile working practices.

As part of your application, you must provide both a CV and Supporting Statement, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description. Please confirm whether you hold a full current driving licence within your Supporting Statement.
