Job Title: Service Controller

Location: Middleton - Manchester

Salary: Competitive

Job type: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 to 15:30.

Star Refrigeration Ltd is the UK's largest independent industrial refrigeration engineering company working with customers from design to commissioning and maintenance, supported by a nationwide branch structure. We are looking to recruit a Service Controller to join our Manchester branch.

The successful candidate will report to the Service Manager and be responsible for the coordination of the branch resource to meet scheduled work and achieve optimum labour utilisation.

The Role, but not be limited to the following key duties:

  • Planning of service, maintenance, spares and branch contract work orders for the Manchester branch; along with resourcing support for the wider business functions.
  • Effective allocation of engineer resource to meet work plan in line with utilisation targets
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate branch resource planner including all relevant information
  • Effective communication with customers on service and maintenance provisions
  • Oversee planning and completion of maintenance contracts in line with budgets
  • Liaise with Service Manager on preparation of service, maintenance and spares quotes
  • Financial review of service, maintenance and spares to ensure that budgets and margins are met in line with the budget
  • Assisting with Key account maintenance contracts in the Manchester area

The Candidate:

  • Refrigeration background or experience within the industry would be ideal but we would consider someone from another engineering background.
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload in a 24/7 industry;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Ideally experience in managing and allocating engineering resource in a fast paced environment;
  • Good geographical knowledge of the region.
  • Experience participating in customer/site review meetings would be beneficial.

There will be a structured training plan for the successful candidate to support them in their new role.
