A technical leadership role for a world-class applications development and content engineering professional

This is a Senior Director level role carrying responsibility for leading a global software engineering team which is focused on content management and data integration across the platforms and external partners of this leading software solutions group.  This is a significant leadership role carrying responsibility for a highly talented and experienced team of engineers who work from multiple locations internationally with their primary office in the UK being London and a further office in Newcastle.  The company is a significant employer and global leader in the provision of integrated end-to-end brand protection, anti-piracy, anti-fraud and Track and Trace software services.  It is on a steep growth curve and it operates from locations throughout the UK, USA and further afield globally. 

Reporting to the Chief Software Development Officer who is based in the USA, this key role forms part of the senior leadership team and will involve close collaboration with colleagues in platform engineering and product leadership and its focus is on identifying key integration needs for its diverse and significant global customer base which incudes recognised global brands and major organisations.  In addition to team leadership, there is also a significant technical content which requires applications development expertise using Java frameworks and also requires solid experience in content engineering, fingerprinting, global API development and integration services across different platforms.  Key role responsibilities include managing your global software development team who are specialists in content engineering, content management and system integration, identifying and documenting key application and platform integration points and building and maintaining systems for audio and video fingerprinting. 

A highly impressive leader with gravitas and technical expertise is required.  You will need to have first class academic credentials, ideally to Masters level, demonstrable software engineering management experience built in world-class groups together with deep knowledge of content management systems, API's and fingerprinting systems.  Your technical foundations will have been built on Java, Front-End frameworks, UI/UX libraries, web services and search engines.  Most importantly you will be a high achieving professional who can deliver positive outcomes through leading and developing a world-class high performing team in an advanced software group environment which operates through a matrix structure.  There is some flexibility on location in the UK and the package is significant including a very strong salary and incentives and it will not be an obstacle for the right candidate as they want the best.
